HOUSTONIANS and TRAVELORS to QUERETARO - Special Continental rate from Houston IAH to Queretaro International Airport QRO - just noticed a $229 rate round trip.  After the short two-hour flight, registered taxis (very safe) then whisk you to Quinta Zoe in Centro in less than half an hour for 250 pesos - about $18 USD.  What vacation could be easier AND cheaper.

Is it safe to come to Mexico?  Queretaro is widely known as the safest, cleanest and fmost modern city in all of Mexico.  It is one of the top five vacation destinations for Mexicans - and it's not even a beach community.  Located in the central highlands, it is 40 miles from the more famous San Miguel de Allende and (arguably) has a lot more to offer - more plazas, a large number of cultural events and music, music, music.  Queretaro will host the International Guitar Festival in the second half of April.  For two weeks, there will be as many as three or four concerts per night by some of the most wonderful musicians in the world.  The week of July 25th will be action packed as Queretaro celebrates its 478th anniversary.  If you've never been to Mexico during Semana Santa - Holy Week, come on down and you are in for a treat.  People will come from all over Mexico to see the "Silent Parade" where men carry crosses and walk all over Centro.  This is very traditional and very colorful but silent with just the beat of a drum.  Then, there will be a visit to 7 churches decorated for Easter.  Cammomile flowers and bread are given to all to commemorate the religious holiday.  A must see!

Year-round sunshine and deep blue skies.  Cool mornings and warm afternoons. Every day is a beautiful day in Queretaro.

Come to colonial Queretaro in central Mexico. Fly into our own international airport or into Mexico City.  We are three hours by bus northwest of Mexico City and 45 minutes to San Miguel de Allende.  Why go to Europe when you can have the bounty of Mexico, once called the “New Spain”?  The historic center of Queretaro was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1996.

Walk through cantera stone streets flanked by beautiful old colonial buildings.  Visit any of several tree-lined plazas or jardins, each with fountain surrounded by restaurants and shops.  All just steps from our house.  A block to the south is the Alameda, several city blocks of trees and greenery.

Stay with us in the most convenient location in town.  Quinta Zoe is an 18th century house right in the heart of the historic center.  Whether you want an activity-filled vacation, a romantic hideaway, a working retreat or to learn cooking or Spanish, Quinta Zoe is the place to stay.

Here is how your hosts feel about Queretaro:  “The best time you ever had, the best sleep you'll ever know, the best walks you'll ever take in one the most beautiful historic cities in the world, Queretaro.”  We would love to share it with you.
